Join Australian digital technologies educator and author, Kim Maslin as she reads one of the illustrated short stories from The Tweeting Galah cyber safety series. Students (and teachers!) will enjoy this live reading of 'The Strange Story of the Singing Clownfish' - where they meet Callie, who befriends another clownfish when she starts posting 'Tik Tok' style videos online. But when she (and her mum) start digging deeper, they realise that her new 'friend' may not who they appear...
This virtual incursion is an entertaining and age appropriate way for students to learn about the dangers of interacting with strangers online, as well as practical advice for how to enjoy the online world with their real friends.
Following the short story, Kim will prompt students to reflect on the story, and introduce an optional hands-on activity for students to complete in their classrooms.
Suitable for students Years 3 - 6.
Teachers will also receive access to further resources for teaching online safety.
